Speaker: Jim Gay
Jim Gay has held various executive leadership positions at Nationwide in the Application Development and Technology Infrastructure areas. He retired from Nationwide in December 2018 and is beginning an IT Consulting Business, JG Consulting providing consulting on Solutions for IT Challenges.
Jim has 45 years of experience in the IT Industry. During his time at Nationwide he served in many IT Leadership roles. As Chief Technology Officer for Technology Infrastructure, he developed the technology infrastructure architecture function at Nationwide. Jim has served in many other leadership roles and led the implementation of many new technology solutions including an Enterprise Directory, Server Virtualization, IP Telephony, MPLS Networking, Wi-Fi Networking, Managed Print, Mobile BYOD Program, Work from Home Program and Video Conferencing and Collaboration Solutions including a full broadcast facility within Nationwide.
In addition to key technology roles, Jim led the effort in IT to improve User perception of IT Solutions and the IT Culture mindsets and behaviors program. Jim helped develop the Nationwide Digital Technology Strategy and the Nationwide IT Mergers and Acquisitions Program.
Jim served as vice-chair of the Board of Directors for the Nationwide Federal Credit Union and is also vice-chair of the McClure Telecommunications Advisory Board at Ohio University. Jim has been active in the Nationwide Children’s Championship Golf Tournament raising over $4M benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
He has served on many Industry Advisory Boards including Novell Executive Customer Council, AT&T Emerging Technologies Council, Sprint Customer Experience Council and the RSA Security Advisory Board.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ohio University. He and his wife, Chris have two children and 6 grandchildren and reside in New Albany, Ohio.
